Tahini & Chocolate Bliss Balls

Rich, nutty and chocolatey, these no-bake bliss balls are the perfect quick snack or sweet treat. Whip them up in just 15 minutes with a few pantry staples—customisable and freezer-friendly! Vegan, halal and full of feel-good energy, they’re a little bite of bliss.

Ingredients

MAKES 15 BALLS

  • 5 fresh medjool dates, pitted and chopped.

  • ¼ cup oats

  • ¼ cup almond meal

  • ¼ cup tahini

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey

  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder

  • pinch of sea salt

  • 1-2 tbsp sesame seeds (for coating)

Method

  1. In a food processor blend together all of your ingredients (except sesame seeds) until you’ve achieved a smooth rollable consistency. You can also do by hand in a mixing bowl achieving a coarser but still delicious texture.

  2. How do you like it? Is it sweet enough? Can you taste the salt? Adjust to your liking! If your mix is too dry add a bit of water. If too wet add more oats or almond meal.

  3. Using clean hands roll mixture into around 15 balls.

  4. Place sesame seeds onto a small plate and roll the balls through the seeds to create a decorative coating.

  5. Store refrigerated in an airtight container. Eat within a week. These freeze well too!

TIPS

  • Date paste is often much cheaper than buying fresh dates - use about 2-3 tablespoons here.

  • Likewise, to save money use what you’ve already got! Almond meal can be replaced with any nuts ground up or even sunflower seeds!
